Why We Made the Switch

As a brand that believes in timeless design and lasting quality, we’ve long known that packaging matters. While the focus is often on the product inside, the materials we use to deliver it also tell a story. Our goal has always been to create something beautiful and intentional, without excess or waste.

For over a year, we researched and tested different packaging options. We weren’t just looking for something biodegradable or recyclable—we wanted packaging that aligned with everything Sauipe stands for: simplicity, sustainability, and elegance.

That search led us to Ellspo Eco, a company built on the belief that eco-friendly packaging should be accessible, smart, and stylish.

What’s Inside the Mailer Matters, Too

Before we even began exploring new exterior shipping options, we had already made a quiet but important change: switching to EcoEnclose’s 100% recycled poly bags to protect your swimsuits during shipment.

These inner bags do more than just safeguard your suit from moisture or handling—they represent our ongoing effort to choose smarter, more sustainable materials at every step. The poly bags we use are:

• Made in the USA from 100% recycled content

• Fully recyclable where thin film is accepted

• Lightweight, low-waste, and strong enough to protect your swimwear without excess bulk

We’ve used them for some time now, and they’ve become a natural part of our packaging process. Including them in this update feels right, as we complete the full circle: inner and outer packaging that both reflect the care we put into our brand.

Ellspo Eco was founded by Caymin Ellspermann, a young entrepreneur who launched the company in 2020 with a clear mission: to reduce the reliance on single-use plastics in the eCommerce space. Caymin’s passion for sustainability and his focus on well-designed, functional packaging resonated deeply with us.

He didn’t just create a product—he built a brand committed to thoughtful change. Ellspo Eco offers truly compostable solutions for modern brands that want to align aesthetics with environmental responsibility. The mailers we now use are a reflection of that philosophy: sleek, minimalist, and effective, with a significantly lower environmental footprint.

Supporting a young entrepreneur's business that prioritizes ethics and innovation feels very aligned with our own journey as a small, independent swimwear brand. And just like Sauipe, Ellspo Eco proves that luxury and responsibility can—and should—go hand in hand.

What Makes This Packaging Special

The mailers we’re now using are certified 100% compostable. They’re made from a blend of PLA (polylactic acid, derived from cornstarch) and PBAT (a compostable polymer)—materials that break down fully in both home and industrial composting environments.

That means when you're done with the mailer, you can place it in a compost bin where it will decompose within 90 to 180 days, depending on the conditions. No microplastics. No harmful residue. Just a clean return to nature.

In addition to being compostable, these mailers are designed with smart efficiency in mind:

• They’re lightweight, which reduces the carbon emissions associated with transport.

• They require less space during storage and shipping, making logistics more efficient.

• And they’re impressively durable, standing up to the elements while still being easy to dispose of responsibly.

Of course, we also love the aesthetic. The understated matte black finish feels beautifully in sync with Sauipe’s design ethos—elegant, simple, and quietly luxurious.
